Initial Teacher Training (ITT) partnerships

Rastrick High School works alongside two ITT Providers to offer Secondary teaching training placements in school.
Kirklees and Calderdale SCITT is an established provider of Initial Teacher Training, rated Good in their OFSTED inspection last year and have been training teachers since 2003. They train Secondary teachers across all subjects and are able to offer placements across Kirklees and Calderdale in a range of different schools.
At Rastrick High School we are proud to host their trainees and work closely with the SCITT in providing placements year on year.
With this programme you would be in school from day one, four days a week and one day at central training.
Kirklees & Calderdale SCITT has an experienced core team of central trainers who come from differing backgrounds within Education, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to their central programme. This theoretical programme enhances and supports the school based learning.

As a partner in Trinity Teaching School Alliance’s School Direct programme, we are offering teacher training places at Rastrick High School.

Rastrick High School is please to announce that we have recently become a preferred partner school with Manchester Metropolitan University. With many providers in the West Yorkshire area cutting back on their PGCE provision, MMU provides a fantastic opportunity to engage in this rigorous process which combines both university based learning and in-school experience:
MMU Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) courses include Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and 60 Masters level credits.
There are over 20 specialisms available at Manchester and a choice of University, School-led Routes or Assessment Only Routes.
