At Rastrick High School, we continually support our students to be proficient in all areas of literacy: reading, writing, and oracy. We offer an ambitious curriculum and a culture rich in opportunities to support and develop student literacy skills. In the classroom, teachers are experts in their academic field and promote disciplinary literacy, an approach which recognises the different literacy skills required in each subject. Whilst outside the classroom, students have access to a wide range of texts in our school library and are rewarded for their commitment to reading for pleasure.
